Modern Rock in Malayalam

Thanks Bharat for the "Ling" to AVIAL. You are right, they do remind one of "Lingan Park".

The video I watched is a track called "Nada Nada" by a rock band called "Avial" from their album Sound Check. They sound good. Despite my practically non-existent comprehension of the lyrics, the song flows smoothly and the video is pretty OK as well.

The video can be watched online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQOcTG-mzCQ.

So God's Own Country is either Rocking or in the Rocks...

Cheers!!!

Visual Radio Update

In June I had briefly talked about Visual Radio. Its finally here in India. Nokia, HP, Radio Mirchi and Hutch launched the service first in delhi on July 25th and now Airtel is on the bandwagon as well.

Apart from the Nokia N-Series, I don't know how many other phones support Visual Radio. I had the opportunity to try out the technology (albeit on a 3G network) and it was great. If I think about the clogged GSM networks here, I am not sure how good it will be.

Having had the misfortune of listening to Radio Mirchi in Bangalore, I am not sure the content will be worth talking about as well, at least for my taste.

Hope it evolves into something better. I wouldn't mind a few Worldspace channels (fees and all) on Visual Radio though. Even podcasting through visual radio would be a good idea, I'm sure the technology for that is out there somewhere.

Now that we have visual radio, do we need RJ's or VJ's or VRJ's. A combination of good looker and good talker is pretty hard to come by. No offence intended.

Cheers!

Hiccup Cures

I have heard of many hiccup cures...swallowing sugar, scaring the victim, drinking from the far side of the cup and so on. None of them seem to work. I have to confess that drinking from the far side of the cup did work once. The victim, the cure guru and all spectators were sufficiently inundated with various forms of alcohol, so I am not too sure of what worked. Maybe most of the suggested solutions are suggested under varying degrees of alcoholic influence (that's when we hiccup the most anyway), so one is never sure what is happening.

In any case, someone seems to have invented a "hic-cup", or in plain english, a contraption for curing hiccups. Credit for the picture goes to the site to which the picture itself is a link.

Cheers!!!
