As you may have seen, I have not been blogging here for a while now. I do not have the bandwidth to blog much now, and the little time I get is spent in Anirudh's blog. So, blogging here is on hold.

Spice?????

The words "SPICE" and "MOBILE" spoken together in Bangalore typically brings a look of "Who...What..." to the speakers face or you get a sympathetic look. Even the die-hard Spice Mobile fans gave up a couple of years back. Recent ads by Spice were at most given a skeptical glance by most.

But look at what Spice has been up to...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all...

This being the first new year celebration for my son and probably with a bit of an ulterior motive of having people around to look after him while I drink, aided and abetted by my dear brother's pet project of a bar counter at home...we decided to spend the holidays at home in Mysore.

Very relaxing, good drinking, no hangovers, lots of photographic experiments (mostly useless) with one numbers newly acquired DSLR.

A few Pictures...The cars are all expensive scale models from my brothers showcase and the humans are all real and life size...some more some less...

I've been working on Photoshop. Added a couple of pictures to my online album called "Inanimate". By the way, it all started because I took some close-up shots of my 6 year old Swatch and realized there were too many scratches on the surface. Tried to remove them using photoshop. Can't say I succeeded...but the end result doesn't show the scratches anyway!

Wimax in Bangalore

I had been reading and hearing about WiMax deployment in Bangalore. Starting with announcements from the state-run BSNL and Sify providing WiMax services to corporates there was no concrete info neither was there any visibility.

I then came across this blog where the author gives pretty detailed info about how to go about getting WiMax Broadband from Reliance.

The interesting (sad) bit is that the speeds are 150kbps or 300kbps and in my book does not qualify for the status of "Broadband" when BSNL itself is offering 2mbps wired connections.

I am also wary of trusting Reliance. Even today Reliance does not mention WiMax as one of its Services, so I guess we are no better off than before.
