Ghostbusting!

I remember enjoying the original movie. It was a riot. Those guys were good. Looks like someone took the movie a little too seriously. I came across this site advertising ghost busting services.

"Ghostbuster Gals"
Here are some of the quotes on their site...
"Can also do remote ghostbustings when onsite work is not possible"
"We guarantee the same ghost will not return"
They claim to be "dead" serious about their job!!!

Where's my beer...that's the kind of spirit I believe in!

Cheers!

'tis the season...

Well...

Its December 25th and seems like almost the whole world is celebrating Christmas (in their own ways). Although it has no religious significance for me, traditionally, this is the time of the year which took me on an annual pilgrimage to Goa. Not this year though...I am sitting at home wondering what to do while the rest of the junta is in Goa.

So somehow ended up googling "christmas". Reached one of my favorite sites which had an interesting way of talking about Christmas.

Good to know the background of what gives me a week long holiday every year!

Cheers!

World Mysteries

As I was publishing my previous blog, I was also trying to find more info on the Antikythera Mechanism and ended up on this website called World-Mysteries.com.

I haven't explored it in depth. On the surface it looks quite interesting. Of course, I have always been interested in mysteries and one of my favorite books was a compilation called Mysteries of the Unexplained (I think) which spoke about everything from ghosts to yetis to the Bermuda Triangle.

Cheers!

Antikythera Mechanism

I read an article which talks about researchers working on what they claim to be the world's oldest computer. To quote the article...

"The Antikythera Mechanism is an ancient astronomical device built by the Greeks around 80 B.C. and found on a shipwreck off the Greek island of Antikythera by sponge divers in 1901. It is believed to have been created to track lunar and solar cycles for agricultural and religious purposes, but its precise function – and how it works – has eluded scholars for more than a century...."
You can read the complete article here

If anyone has any information on the Antikythera Mechanism, please send me an email.

Interesting for those who are interested in such stuff. Me, I'm wishing I had a beer. I don't and I am not in a mood to get out of the house and get a beer.

Cheers! Sigh...

Driving Directions...

I received a link to this site - http://maps.live.com/ which belongs to Microsoft. It looks interesting and the best part is that you get some driving directions from almost anywhere to anywhere in India.

I tried out some driving directions in South India. Seems good. Of course, it terms everything as local roads when giving instructions to turn left or right. Will be good to try it out once on a known road.

Oh, yes...it doesn't seem to work properly on Mozilla, it works best on IE.

Cheers!

YouTube

After having been a visitor to YouTube for a while now, I finally registered myself and inaugurated my account by uploading a video clip I shot in Sydney Aquarium.

Not bad video quality from a basic digital still camera.

Cheers!
